With both lifts broken, people are leaving Lime Bikes everywhere in the tunnel! Counted 18 abandoned bikes today, in front of the lift door, on the stairs and down the tunnel. Please be extra careful when going down the stairs!

Glenkerry Greenwich Foot Tunnel Lift I’m grateful for the prompt response from Tower Hamlets Council (Royal Borough of Greenwich not responding) but some info is incorrect. They direct us to RBG website but info hasn’t been updated since February & even states you have to pay for DLR Island Gdns to Cutty Sark when lifts are out.

John Lion Greenwich Foot Tunnel Lift Glenkerry Tower Hamlets Council Royal Borough of Greenwich DLR is free btw Island Gardens thru’ Cutty Sark and now on to Greenwich DLR. TfL is giving these concessions for a year from 7th April as ‘mitigation’ for #SilvertownTunnel. Escalate Now Cutty Sark DLR liaised with Caroline Russell who asked TfL to extend to G/wich due to escalator problems.

With another day without working lifts and no updates from Royal Borough of Greenwich, it is nice to remember that you can take the DLR for free between Island Gardens and Greenwich

I went on a ride today to test it. Tapped in at Island Gardens Station and tapped out at Cutty Sark Station. I was charged £1.50 and no refund has been issued yet (it’s been 10 hours). Are we sure TfL is implementing this scheme? Calum O'Byrne Mulligan Aidan Smith

Back to work post-Easter and I wonder which one of the Greenwich foot tunnel lifts won't be working this time. Silly of me really because they're now BOTH NOT WORKING. The priority issue for the Greenwich foot tunnel is indeed *accessibility* but also COMMUNICATION. Current signage shows a complete lack of understanding from officers who sit at their desks & do not see the reality. It is incompetence pure and simple.

Royal Borough of Greenwich - this was your latest message yesterday on the south side of the tunnel, an old poster taken out of the archives. We have the London Marathon coming up nd people need to know exactly what is going on, what to do. Sorry but this is embarrassing.

📢 Woolwich foot tunnel has re-opened 📢 We had to close the Woolwich foot tunnel yesterday for emergency drainage maintenance. Our teams have worked quickly to resolve the issue and the tunnel is now open.

Today on Marathon day the lifts were working. So what exactly happened over the last few weeks with both lifts out of order? Why are tunnel users being kept in the dark? Royal Borough of Greenwich ?

While cleaning up the notice board yesterday at the foot tunnel we noticed many wheelers, walkers and pram users heading to the lift. North lift wasn’t working and Council website isn’t regularly updated. We need efficient & *accessible* cross river links for active travel.
