Wonderful work of literature by the inimitable Richard Garcia in memory of Bishop Edward Rapallo, much loved by our community. Honoured to be mentioned together with my late Dad Pepe Cortes. Gibraltar National Book Council
The latest Chasing Nelson is in today's Gibraltar Chronicle. It's about last week's Gibraltar Literature symposium at Cambridge University, and why the most important thing is that the work must exist. Read it here: chronicle.gi/chasing-nelson…
What a morning! An emotive speech by John Cortes read out on his behalf, a rousing call-to-arms by MG Sanchez setting the tone for the entire symposium. I am so inspired I think my head is going to burst.
First talk of the Gibraltar Literature Symposium at the University of Cambridge is MG Sanchez’s “Llanito under siege: society, performativity and language loss”
Great piece in The Times and The Sunday Times today by Isambard Wilkinson - featuring quotes by Fabian Picardo, our own Patuka Press founder-member MG Sanchez, & some lines from a story by our other founder-member Gabriel Moreno! Fantastic boost for llanito language & culture!
