Gibraltar Tourist Board CEO Kevin Bossino was invited on board ‘The Sun Princess’ on its inaugural cruise call in Gibraltar on 1st April.

Kevin was pleased to welcome Captain Craig Steward Street and reiterates that this visit showcases Gibraltar as a premier destination.

Staff from the Supported Needs and Disability Office and from the Supported Employment Team attended the online Annual Professionals’ Conference on empowering professionals to understand autistic experiences.

Tracey Poggio, the Gibraltar Tourist Board representative in London, attended the BTA spring conference.

Tracey gave an overview of the destination at the conference promoting the autumn conference which will take place in Gibraltar in September this year.

Minister Santos was invited to visit Art Space, the new contemporary art gallery at The Old Police Station in Irish Town.

Ryan Asquez AKA ‘The Llanito History Doctor’ met with Minister Santos yesterday to discuss some potential projects which align with his popular social media offerings that focus on local history, anecdotes and our Llanito culture.

As part of the International Women’s Day programme of events, Minister Santos will be attending an evening of workshops and discussion run by the GFSB on the themes of ‘Invest in Women’ and ‘Inspire Inclusion’.

Minister Santos met with Monica Popham to congratulate her in person for winning the top prize in the Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the year competition.

As a supporter of her work, Minister wanted to catch up with her and discuss future projects.

Connect, part of the Young Enterprise programme, met with Minister Santos to discuss their product, a book on ‘One Disability Many Abilities’. Looking forward to their book being printed in just a few days, they told Minister all about their business plan, marketing and ideas.

The Ministry of Equality is pleased to announce several events to mark International Women's Day.

The first of these events, which sees a collaboration between the Ministry of Equality and the Gibraltar Garrison Library, will be a panel discussion event on Monday 4th March.

Today marks the start of hearing loss week. We support GHITA (Gibraltar Hearing Issues and Tinnitus Association) in their awareness campaign that comes to an end on the 3rd of March, which is World Hearing Day.

The Ministry of Equality’s Women’s Mentorship Programme fifth cycle began with Minister Santos meeting the mentees and mentors for an induction session.

The Programme is designed to provide guidance and support for women and improve gender diversity within organisations.

Last Wednesday we saw the first of hopefully many Wellbeing sessions kindly provided to the MEECT staff by Gibsams, raising awareness for the prevention of suicide and teaching necessary skills to increase our wellbeing.

Raising awareness of Angelman Syndrome is a cause close to our hearts, and we hope our small gesture brings some comfort and much needed support to those who live with this.

Yesterday, Minister Santos invited Miss Gibraltar 2022, Faith Torres, to his office to wish her the best of luck at the Miss World Pageant and presented her with a gift and a bouquet of flowers.

The Select Committee on People with Disabilities met for the first time on Monday 5th February 2024 in the Parliament Chamber.

The aim of the committee is to address issues faced by individuals with special needs.
