Just as a shepherd will not allow any of his flock to be stolen, because he is so protective of them, so also does Jesus, the Good Shepherd, never allow us to fall away from him, because he is so protective of us.

An essential element of following Jesus is listening to his voice. We cannot be good followers of Jesus the Good Shepherd, if we do not learn to listen attentively to his voice, to know the path he wants us to take in life.
