Wonderful to be at this event last night, but I'm sad not to be able to join the congregation on Sunday when the Tabot is welcomed. Looking forward to many more events like this!

And so, we are begun… #Synod. I will share just this one moment from tonight - a single male voice singing St Francis’ Laudato si’ whilst a man from Aleppo & woman from Columbia laid flowers and a life jacket in front of a specially made San Damiano cross replica.

Lemn Sissay on BBC Radio 4 Today today. "Forming new relationships with the world and ourselves is what is happening in museums, and particularly the British Museum. They should give the sacred tabots back" to Ethiopia. Well said, and thanks for the namecheck! bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0…

Huge news. It's back. The shield taken from Ethiopia in 1868, put up for sale in Newcastle this year, identified through the expertise of alula pankhurst (who shared the pics) and handed over through the negotiation of HIH Prince Ermias & the Royal Ethiopian Trust just came back home.
