On CBS, Adams again declines to identify the 'outside' individuals or groups he says participated in the Columbia protests. He does say: 'It's not singular, it's plural, several organizations and groups, I want to be clear on that, we did not take this action lightly.'

NYPD Deputy Commissioner Rebecca Weiner now says the unidentified wife of a man convicted of terrorism wasn't actually part of last night's protests.

She says the woman was on the Columbia campus last week, and that 'we have no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing on her part.'

Adams and NYPD officials still haven't disclosed figures on how many of the roughly 300 people arrested last night were 'outside agitators.'

But in a briefing at NYPD headquarters, Adams now says that agitators do not need to be in the 'majority' to be able to co-opt a protest.
