Great to see our Chief Exec, Prof Dame Jenny Harries, on the BBC Breakfast sofa this morning, to launch our new campaign encouraging parents to come forward and get their children up to date with routine #vaccinations – protecting them against many preventable diseases.

I’m with Siobhain McDonagh and OurBrainBank - while £40m funding is good - why wasn’t it spent in the 6 years since it was announced? What difference could it have made to my brother fighting GBM today if it had been spent well already? #braintumour #cancer

The Reform response is almost more chilling than the original comments. I hope this causes those falling for the Farage & cos chummy, “straight talking” facade to look more closely at what they would be voting for.

UK General Election: two weeks until the UK goes to the polls. Already millions of words have been written and spoken. Where are the commitments to Brain Cancer?

Sad to read this about Peter Hamilton. He was one of my earliest bosses along with the formidable (but also lovely) Maureen Smith. My career (and I think many others) was nurtured under their stewardship at The Communication Group. RIP Peter.

Well said. We need to do so much better for all those who have faced, and are facing, this horrendous disease. #Braincancer #Glioblastoma

A busy agenda will be waiting for the new Government - and that must include better answers for brain cancer. See more about why it matters from OurBrainBankUK

If you are interested in #braincancer or #genomics this report from Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission is important. Only 5% of patients are getting this important DNA test - patients and friends and family must ask for it if it isn’t offered.

Today I’m launching my Private Members’ Bill - the Safer Phones Bill - to protect children from the harms that can be caused by excessive screen time, and the use of social media and other apps, many of them addictive by design. 👉 saferphonesbill.co.uk

Great to see David Cameron's bold and badly needed fight to make real progress on rare diseases. Glioblastoma (brain cancer) fits the bill perfectly as a potential area of focus. As highlighted in the recent #Darzi and Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission reports we need to see more genomic testing.

Thank you so much Siobhain McDonagh for including Laura’s story in today’s 10 Min Rule bill She would be so proud to hear her name mentioned in #Parliament & know it’s recorded in #Hansard We’ll continue her fight for kinder, more effective treatments for #Glioblastoma OurBrainBank

Sobering to be heading to the brain cancer APPG chaired by Siobhain McDonagh later , meanwhile my brother is in Germany to get access to innovative treatment which isn’t available here. We need to do better on rare cancers. #GBM #braincancer

I’ve been in many meetings with Ministers & MPs. But yesterday’s APPG Brain Tumours was better than most. Siobhain McDonagh is a determined Chair and, critically, health Minister Ashley Dalton MP was genuinely listening and that’s a start.

In memory of my sister Margaret, we launched a Glioblastoma drug trial. Now, Margaret’s Trial is open on the NHS - and offering real hope. Ben, diagnosed with a Glioblastoma in 2022, saw his tumour vanish. His story helped make this happen. Watch here:
