Preach sister! The bottleneck is NOT executing analysis. It’s knowing what to run when and how to interpret results, just like every other experimental process.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the huge body of work that we had the pleasure of distilling. Convergence science is hard, but by showing success stories we can hopefully make a stronger case for it (shoutout to Dr. Elana J Fertig). Full article here shorturl.at/cuwBP (3/3)

Scary realization today: When I tell my students that I implemented backpropagation myself or would reference a physical book for helping with latex syntax (instead of asking ChatGPT) it is the same to them as when my advisor told me about using punch cards 😱

Vitalii Kleshchevnikov, PhD Mae Woods Lior Pachter Rahul Satija Fabian Theis Automating defaults rarely works. The HCA spend tens of millions on it and failed. Methods do not need to be fully automated and free of user intervention. Users need to be smart and know what they are doing

Thanks Dana, and you’re absolutely right. Analysis needs to be iterative, not push button. We want our software to be accessible, but we have a responsibility to educate our users on interpretation and caveats. Would love to think with you/your lab about how to do this
