My toughest audience to date! Take Your Child to Work Day is always a big hit at Headquarters. It’s wonderful to see how proud these children are that their mom or dad works for the FDNY. I hope many are inspired to follow in their footsteps.

I am heartbroken to hear about the senseless killing of Police Officer Jonathan Diller. Officer Diller was doing his job - protecting the lives of New Yorkers - and needlessly lost his life. My heart goes out to his family and I join the NYPD and the city in mourning his loss.

I joined NYC DOT NYCEDC & NYC Consumer and Worker Protection to open the city’s first e-battery charging station. I am hopeful this will lead to less unsafe charging in people’s home where a majority of the lithium-ion battery fires occur & that we can prevent tragedies like last week’s Harlem fire.
