.NWS New York NY Special Weather Statement for Manhattan & Staten Island: Strong thunderstorms are observed with wind in excess of 30 mph, pea sized hail, and a few lightning strikes through 5:30 PM. Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

30+ mph and pea-sized hail is possible in midtown and Lower Manhattan and parts of Staten Island.
