As part of the 8th international shortcourse on FBFS Mekelle University, we have begun three days fieldwork & experience sharing visit to various IWSM, water resource development and flood-based farming systems in Tigray with the experts from Afar, Ethiopian Somali, Somaliland and Sudan.

A team of senior professionals from Mekelle University is in Kenya to support the design and implementation of two pilot spate irrigation schemes in Turkana and Marsabit Counties in collaboration with GIZ Kenya and County Governments. @DrKindeya @goitom_tegegn

Through the A4Labs project funded by Netherlands Government, Mekelle University has purchased & installed solar pumps at Mai Gobo sand dam irrigation scheme, Hawzein Wereda. On-site installation & operation training was given to users and 13 farm HHs have benefited from the technology.
