A multi-million pound fund to help local authorities keep afloat pools which struggled with energy bills has been launched. Sport England will manage this on behalf of government. It's part of the investment for facilities with pools announced in the #SpringBudget More⬇️ Department for Culture, Media and Sport

It was great to welcome Max Whitlock OBE from Team GB to meet pupils from @ColvillePS to raise awareness of physical activity within London. Great work by Aldi Stores UK with food vouchers providing healthy snacks as part of London Sport Opening Schools Facilities programme.


We welcome Keir Starmer’s pledge to encourage children to take up more sports and creative subjects. An important step as our recent report showed that less than half of children achieve the recommended levels of sport and physical activity - 1 in 12 do no activity at all!

London Sport CEO, Emily Robinson says: “We know the transformational power sport and physical activity can have. An active lifestyle can improve physical and mental health, reduce the risk of health conditions and obesity, and can help children perform better at school.”
