Looking forward to Pint of Science IE tonight at the Hole in the Wall with my fellow Marine Institute presenters! I’ll be talking about our EirOOS: Irish Ocean Observing System infrastructures 🌊
Come join me for a night of Pint of Science IE on wednesday at 7pm Hole in the Wall. My talk, Big Ocean, Big Tech, will give you insight on the EirOOS: Irish Ocean Observing System marine technology we deploy from #IMDBON data buoys to #ARGO Argo Ireland floats.
Finally, RocioGrana & her team from Instituto Español de Oceanografía IEO Gijón/Xixón, are deploying 4 seabed landers with the LanderPick. Having the LanderPick team on board facilitates knowledge sharing and our Marine Institute oceanography team will be making the most of this learning opportunity!
We’re always delighted to launch a Mini Boat from #AIMSIR , this year it’s the #RavenKaster ! We’ve been checking in on her every day to track her progress. Fair winds RavenKaster, may you sail far! ⛵️

Next up on #MeettheResearcher , we are joined by Eoghan, an oceanographer at Marine Institute, who works with data collected from the #CTDs deployed on the #AIMSIR survey.
We welcomed Ashly from Maynooth University for her first time at sea! She is a @marineinst Cullen PhD candidate studying wave modelling in Maynooth Geography.

Sheena joins us from P&O Maritime and is working with deploying and recovering the #M6 and deep sea mooring. She is also busy piloting an EirOOS: Irish Ocean Observing System glider for a separate mission while on board.
Come back tomorrow for more #MeettheResearcher on Marine Institute #AIMSIR survey!
Neil is a visiting researcher from Scottish Association for Marine Science who, together with his colleague Lewis Drysdale, is deploying a seabed pressure sensor on the Rockall Trough slope for long-term monitoring.
Join us as for another #MeettheResearcher on Marine Institute #AIMSIR survey!
The #IMDBON #M6 buoy and mooring line laid out ready for deployment #AIMSIR ! Sun is still shining for us and an unusually flat calm sea.
