Last week I visited our Zantchito Incubator at MUBAS where I met very innovative young people. MUBAS’ commitment to fostering innovation aligns with the EU’s Research & Innovation Strategy, recognizing innovation as a driver of economic growth, job creation & competitiveness

It's always inspiring to interact with young people. Yesterday, I hosted political science students from Catholic University. Together with our partners Oxfam in Malawi, Standing Voice, Malawi Electoral Commission, #NICE & #CMD , we discussed a range of governance & democracy issues with them.

Parliament launches Phungu Wanga Project

The Parliament of Malawi in collaboration with Save the Children and Civil Society Strengthening has this afternoon launched a project dubbed 'Phungu Wanga' at Kawere Ground in Mchinji North Constituency.

Amazing talent last night at the opening of the #ZombaCityFestival . I was honored together with the Deputy Minister of Local Government, Unity & Culture and the Zomba Arts Platform to experience #Malawi through music, visual arts, fashion, theatre, poetry, and so much more.

Great fun to join this morning, a group of young people for the Zomba City clean-up exercise to kick start the events of Zomba City Festival this weekend and also to wind-up my mission to the Southern Region. What an inspiring week this has been! EU in Malawi 🇪🇺

Today I join the Hon Min of Gender again to launch #AmaiTitukuke Project in Mayaka, Zomba. The new programme will benefit over 500,000 people, enhancing access to socio-economic services for vulnerable women & girls & strengthening their resilience to shocks, crises & disasters.

We are excited to support a new Malawi Government🇲🇼 programme, #SocialProtection for Gender Empowerment & Resilience #SPGEAR , that seeks to empower women and girls to get out of poverty. The #EU is investing $23.6 million (approx MK41 bn) in the peogramme, also called #AmaiTitukuke .

This morning I joined the Minister of Gender & Mwanza Central MP at the launch of EU’s support to the Lean Season Response, a consistent aspect of our partnership with govt. This year, EU support (K12bn) has reached approx 74,985 households with cash transfers across 6 districts.
