Had a consultation with uro-neuro department at UCL. They were surprisingly understanding and said they’ve seen many cases like mine. If you have PSSD and are from the UK, I highly recommend asking your GP to refer you to the said department, for genital numbness and SD.

If you randomly distribute SSRIs to general public there will be an increase in sexual dysfunction in the whole group.

Why?

Roy Perlis wants antidepressants to be freely available over the counter despite the fact so many suicide after taking them.

This review does not take into account the role of withdrawal in the risk of relapse. The most common method of stopping in these studies is 1 day, average 5 days, all ignored. These studies would show that cigs are effective for relapse prevention of anxiety.

If only more psychiatrists and doctors were like Dr. Shipko. 'I never prescribe a SSRI without first explaining to the patient the risk of PSSD. Most people won't take that risk.'

Everyone deserves full informed consent about #PSSD when prescribed #antidepressants .

Pleased to see the outrage. However it is nonsense to call these pills 'mental health pills' when they cause death by suicide, brain and bodily harm and so much terrible suffering!

Requests for trials to settle the issue are also ignored. None of this is acceptable. Psychiatry is NOT a law unto itself.

We agree about overdiagnosis and the role of drug companies, but I still struggle with something called “clinical depression” being a “disease”. Shouldn’t we have biological evidence of a disease before using that term? And we now know the “chemical imbalance” notion is false.

Do all the millions of people on “antidepressants”(one in 6 in USA, UK, Australia) have “clinical depression” and the rest of us have “situational depression”? Or is depression/sadness/low mood a dimension that we all move up and down on, largely determined by life events etc.?
