Alder planted a year ago on the wettest part of the farm are doing mighty, with 48 out of 50 now over a metre tall #righttree #rightplace

Last Saturday we teamed up with the Duhallow Conservation Volunteer Network and planted a 150m native hedgerow through a large nutrient flow pathway. This farm is mostly PIP-Rank 1 and is in the ALLOW_060 catchment, which improved in status between 2013-2018 and 2016-2021

Right measures, right place 🔑

Hedgerow planting to disrupt flow pathways has commenced. The plastic membrane used here is biodegradable. Hawthorn, Hazel and guelder rose planted to deliver multiple benefits to water, biodiversity, climate and farm.
