In honor of Recovery Month we want to give a shout out to the thousands of San Franciscans who are living proof #RecoveryIsPossible. So many of you are working hard to lift up others who are actively in addiction. We are grateful for you 🙏 🙏🙏Amber Richmond Naomi Cohen

Pre-trial diversion in San Francisco prevents people from real recovery. Our sidewalks are overwhelmed by people in addiction w/ criminal records. California needs to improve diversion, not expand it. Gavin Newsom veto AB1231! Santa Monica Coalition T Wolf 🌁 Spencer

We met a man named Laurence on Saturday on 6th St. He wanted detox. It took 4 hrs to get to and from SF General for the required TB x-ray. When we got back to detox, his fentanyl craving returned. He bailed. Mandatory treatment must be part of the solution Steve Adami Kane 謝凱堯

Heroic work is underway by non-profits supporting kids in the Tenderloin. Our panel on youth also underscored there's only so much non-profits can do. The mental health of kids in San Francisco will continue to suffer as long as drug markets persist in their neighborhoods.

2 out of 3 people voted for treatment-mandated felonies to get people the HELP they need BUT no one in SF is implementing it. When elected officials thwart the will of the people, voters will take recourse. It's time for a DRUG-FREE Sidewalks proposition. Mayor Matt Mahan

Gov. Newsom Vetoed Recovery Housing Bill AB255. He failed to lift California's prohibition on funding drug-free housing for people exiting homelessness who want a sober supportive environment. Instead Californians in recovery are left with the status quo of drug-tolerant housing,

San Francisco will never recover if we keep releasing drug dealers back to the street. What's even the point of arresting and charging them if nothing happens? Daniel Lurie 丹尼爾·羅偉, you need to do something about this. Speak out. Hold a press conference. Anything.

Joey Alexander's story of rehabilitation and advocacy for a drug-free sidewalk for children ended tragically. His death must not be in vain. bit.ly/3KE8zk7

Adding recovery housing in San Francisco is about expanding options and respecting the different paths people take to stay in recovery. A Rand survey of nearly 400 encampment residents in Los Angeles found that about one-third preferred placement in drug-free housing.

It's time for Gavin Newsom to clear the fog for San Francisco. Please explain how the CA welfare code already allows for drug-free housing under CA "housing first" laws. We don't see it. Apparently the Wall Street Journal Opinion doesn't see it either...
