Pleased to be at European Parliament this afternoon speaking at European Doctors panel on working conditions of doctors. Unemployed doctors doctors leaving due to burnout-out is a waste of public money. Doctors needs the right systems in place to do their job safely to protect patients.

Delighted to have been part of The BMA delegation that got this policy on the role of physicians associates passed at World Medical Association Council last week. The world is watching the UK, and waiting for the outcome of the Leng review - it’s time for patient safety to be truly put first.

Clarity in naming matters. Patients must not be allowed to believe they are being treated by a doctor when they are not. Doctors must always lead the team. This is about making sure patients get the care they need when they need it. Tales of missed opportunities abound

This is what happens when one side has a louder voice than the other in a conflict and warnings are not heeded and dismissed. But we cannot just be horrified or angry, action is needed now from the international community to stop more preventable deaths and suffering in Gaza.
