'Delays in diagnosing skin cancer because of Covid lockdowns led to 12,000 years of life lost in Britain, it has been estimated.'

Is the inquiry even considering evidence like this?

Dr Charles Levinson Not to mention those living with abusive parents or partners. We must not allow this dark period to be whitewashed or forgotten.

The lockdown experience of an MP or senior civil servant living in a big detached house with a large garden, having no financial worries, could not be more different to a young family living in a tiny city centre flat.

The forgotten victims of lockdown, among millions of others.

Lockdowns had a brutal impact on mental health.

The issue is those responsible for designing, voting on and now judging those restrictions had little exposure to just how difficult it all was.

Big gardens, plenty of space.

All very different to the experience of millions.

Incorporating more walking into your daily routine is a fantastic way to improve cardiovascular health, manage weight, enhance mental health, boost immune function, lower risk of chronic disease and so much more.

Increase steps in small, but sustainable ways - it will help.

There is more demand for private healthcare, including for Doctorcall services.

Particularly on the corporate side, with more companies taking matters into their own hands.

Onsite doctors are proving extremely popular, helping to attract/retain talent.

Going through cancer treatment is an incredibly challenging experience, particularly when long journeys are involved.

It may not seem significant from the outside, but the added stress is immense.

British cancer patients deserve so much better.

A tunnel vision focus on one cause of harm has resulted in vast suffering...

'An additional 7,000 people died of tuberculosis in Europe because of the disruption to health services caused by Covid-19 pandemic, according to a new report.'

A driving factor behind high excess deaths - just horrific numbers.

'More than 150,000 people were forced to wait over 24 hours in an accident and emergency department last year before a hospital bed could be found for them'

Absolutely this. Reminder that the Swedish Public Health Agency encouraged both indoor & outdoor sport for children while the UK, despite an obesity crisis, stopped these activities. Anders Tegnell Oct 2020: 'We think it's important that [children] continue with their activities'

Correctly attributed as a 'lockdown' surge.

COVID restrictions have had many, many unwanted consequences.

This is one more of them...

Many parts of our pandemic response were cruel and unnecessary, but one that sticks in my mind was banning so much outdoor activity for children.

Especially once we knew the low risk of outdoor transmission.

Only four short years ago. It must not happen again.

Four years ago today.

Restricting so much activity outdoors was an enormous mistake, like so much of our pandemic response.

Many of us said so at the time - particularly cruel for children.

One reason why corporate health services are becoming more popular...

'One in five people in England are waiting for hospital care, a survey by the Office for National Statistics suggests - a much higher proportion than official NHS figures indicate.'
