This is a key point. It is clear that many teachers have deliberately excluded parents - possibly with good intentions, but Governors and headteachers really have no excuse for allowing this practice to happen in their schools. It needs to stop immediately.

1. It is not kids who buy the smartphones
2. Restricting access to social media apps for kids will fail - SM can easily be accessed via internet browsers
3. Parental controls can be bypassed with VPNs
