Harvesting our own big roll sod from the driving range floor at Champions GC to reinstall on Chris Ortmeier’s newly renovated driving range tee. Our machine is pretty slick! #HeritageLinks #Sod #ChampionsGolfClub

Another peak at one of our template holes at Darmor. Here is “Dell” hole #2. First image is from the top of the fronting hill (our construction manager is in foreground for scale). Second image is side view of the green taken from golfer’s right. Hal Sutton @Heritage-Links

Get ready for one of the best par 5’s in Texas. It’s called the long out and it’s #9 at Darmor Club. It’s got the Hell bunker on it and it’s got mounding from the mining that was done. Two pictures are taken from in between 12 and 9 and the other from the landing area of 2nd shot

Can’t believe it took me seven years to finally get out to Bluejack National but it didn’t disappoint. Extremely fun course, accommodating staff, and maybe the best amenities of any golf property. This one is definitely scoring high on the extracurriculars

Darmor Club will be known for its par 5’s and par 3’s. The first two pictures are of the “punchbowl” 4th. The first one is from the east side and the second from the west side early morning. The last picture is of the “Cardinal” and from the tips it’s 650 yards of amazing golf!!

A little spicy on the higher summits of NH today…mid forties, 70-mph winds, and light rain. Quite the dichotemy when it’s 76 and sunny down in the valley. Mt. Jefferson via Caps Ridge Trail. Quick trip to the summit and back down in 3.5 hours

Just starting sleeting/snowing. I think that’s a good sign the season is over. House is all shuttered and ready for the long winter. See you next spring Windy Ledge! #WindyLedge #ParisHill #Maine

Today was my first time around Champions without our fearless leader, Jackie Burke Jr. He will be dearly missed. I could always count on Mr. B to provide me with a free swing tip, mental tip, or a famous Burke-ism. “You can’t get lost on a straight road” was my favorite…

I stopped by Darmor Club on my way back from San Antonio to check in on the course as the staff prepares the finishing touches before the official opening. Superintendent Junior Schuette and staff have it looking fantastic.

Got to celebrate opening day of Darmor Club last weekend. Extremely proud of what I have created with Hal Sutton. It’s completely unique to Texas and a refreshing adventure with loads of character. This place will only get better as it matures.

Had a great couple days of education and fun in Minnesota. Thanks to The TORO Company for showing us around the headquarters and a few days of golf.

Thanks to the Maine Golf Course Superintendents Association for inviting me to speak last week at the Maine Turf Conference. It was a pleasure to speak to a great group of hardworking golf professionals as well as catch up with numerous old friends from the business.
