Perfect time for me to finally speak on this 😌 One of my favorite people ever ( marlon biete ) designed this beautiful shirt last year for worlds that sparked controversy due to the design resembling a more melanated cheerleader.

Never in my 17 years of cheerleading have I worn a silhouette/character or any gear that resembled a curly/coily haired girl.🥹 Very grateful to have had such an amazing person as my coach who valued me not only as an athlete but a human being🤎

The world needs more humans who recognize the privilege that is overlooked even in simple things like this and take a step in normalizing things that “arent normal” but SHOULD be. Black is beautiful and has always been.🤎
