The most surprising thing here, to me, isn't the criticism of Nike's product (the unis clearly aren't satisfactory).

It's the criticism of Nike's approach to athletes and refusal to hear their concerns. That, more than product quality, has been a $NKE secret sauce for years.

SCOOP: It's not just that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are buying into ⚡️Club Necaxa⚡️.

Backers in the Mexican team have also bought a 5% stake in Wrexham AFC.

More from me and Scott Soshnick about a unique, multi-continent, celebrity-heavy tie-up 👇

What happened to Colorado's castoffs?

One year later, I caught up with the players who got cut or transferred out after Deion Sanders took over the Buffs.

Story on where all 53 of them went and what they went through: bit.ly/3xXttV2

Daniel Libit CJR one of the best developments in the wake of that coverage was a (general) recognition that treating NCAA rules as if they were laws, and rule-breaking as criminal, was not virtuous, but rather carrying the water of a cartel.

Pryor is also a gleaming reminder about the intellectual/philosophical failures of sports journalism’s Scandal Beat, which glommed onto “tattoogate” as if it was a federal crime— as opposed to an NCAA rules violation. I wrote about this for CJR in ‘11.

This is made worse by the fact that the college agent class is overrun by people who do not understand, or care about, how progress toward a degree works. Credits are not interchangable across all universities, even with common majors!

Ten years after the debut of revolutionary new cures for hepatitis C, as countries around the world eliminate the disease, the U.S. has made no progress. My home state of New Mexico is struggling against the epidemic harder than most. For The New York Times: nytimes.com/2024/04/28/hea…

An amazing article by Joel D. Anderson 🆓 discussing Caitlin Clark, Molly Kazmer, and Slaying the Trolls!
Who is Molly Kazmer?
If investors were emotionally invested in women's sports (like they are for men), you would know the answer!

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the most consistent high volume scorer in NBA history... A data viz thread 📊🧵

(1) SGA scored between 30 and 34 points in a ridiculous 46% of his games this season. Compare that to someone who runs more hot and cold, like Jalen Brunson 👇

This one is fun. Raises its own questions. And leads me to a few more. Why is such a registry needed (I’m unconvinced by protecting athletes argument)? Will it be made public? sportico.com/leagues/colleg…
