And as for ‘arrogance’, what about the assumption rife among #Brexit enthusiasts that the UK could leave the EU, but retain the benefits of membership; that the EU would bend to the UK’s demands. An arrogant #miscalculation .

Good point, especially as the EU open skies has been a great gift to both Irish airlines.

Thank you to Michael Kenny for sending me a copy of his book, ‘Fractured Union’ Hurst Publishers. Interesting for me to read a book about the future of the UK that does not have its main focus on NI, but on the other island which makes up the vast bulk of the UK.

Just got a copy of my Institute of Politics students’ report on the study group I conducted there during the Fall Semester last year with the theme, ‘Can the Centre Hold’. It brings back happy memories of @Harvard and the many fine people I met there.

When will you realise that this whole thing is done and dusted? London and Brussels have done a deal and no amount of bellyaching will change that. The WF is in force and everyone is moving on. No one in authority wants to reopen those issues that took so long to resolve.

An encouraging statistic for #Ireland given the continuing economic salience of the ICT sector.
