3/4 The National Trauma Strategy has made recommendations for the establishment of an inclusive Trauma System, focusing on 5 key areas: Prevention, Reception & Intervention, Rehabilitation, Pre-Hospital Care & Retrieval, Reconstruction & Ongoing Care #TraumaSystemForIreland

4/4 An inclusive Trauma System is a network of facilities cooperating to care for you in the event of injury. It features improved patient care and outcomes, effective use of limited resources, and minimised variations in care provided across the system #TraumaSystemForIreland

7/8 Trauma Units Trauma Units are hospitals that will accept trauma patients who don’t require the expertise of an MTC. Trauma Units will deliver definitive care to you as appropriate, and safely and efficiently transfer you to the MTC or TUSS if required #TraumaSystemForIreland

8/8 Injury Units The Injury Unit network provides you with emergency care for non life or limb-threatening injuries as conveniently as possible. Injury Units will be integrated into the Trauma System to provide seamless, efficient and safe trauma care #TraumaSystemForIreland
