The CBP Seattle Field Office says goodbye to a retired K-9. "Diesal" was an NDD in Blaine, WA from 2009 until 2017. He had a great retirement with the Escobar family. His hard work kept America safe from illegal drugs. We are very lucky to have had "Diesal" on our side. #canine

A shipment of Passiflora sp. made entry at the Kenneth G. Ward, WA POE. CBP determined they contained several viruses. Our employees continue to target similar shipments to ensure infected plants do not enter the US. The viruses are likely first in nation interceptions! Dept. of Agriculture

Today, we remember CBP Officer Trainee Cody Olafson. He died on this day in 2022 while assigned to the DFO Greg Alvarez Pembina, North Dakota, Port of Entry. Our hearts are with his loved ones as we reflect on his dedication to our country. #LODD #GoneButNotForgotten

Two years ago, on May 20, we lost CBP Trainee Cody Olafson. It was a heartbreaking loss for his family, friends and colleagues at CBP. The memorial dedicated to him at the Pembina, ND POE is a reminder of his dedication to his country. Cody was a great person, and we miss him.

On #MemorialDay, we remember CPT Torre Mallard, who helped shape the life of CBP BC Oscar Liberato. CPT Mallard died from an IED in Iraq on 3/10/08 where Oscar was the lone survivor. CPT Mallard led from the front and cared for his people. We value his sacrifice and leadership.

The CBP Seattle Field Office is a very diverse organization and during #AANHPI month we highlight AAPD Jeff Hofschneider in Seattle. Jeff was recently the PD of the Saipan POE. He is of Chamorro and Carolinian descent, a great leader, and a perfect fit for our Seattle operation.

Last Wednesday I was in Grand Forks, ND with our great partners at the @GFKairport cutting the ribbon on our new state of the art General Aviation Facility. Modern facilities like this are important for us to accomplish our mission and provide the best service to travelers. #GAF

A week ago, I was in Pembina, ND with Chief Jason OwensGfn cutting the ribbon on the first ever joint OFO-BP seized property vault. Sharing a vault is extremely efficient and cost effective. Thank you to our CBP partners in @USBPChief and CBP Office of Trade for helping bring this to fruition.

It has been an amazing week! The CBP Seattle Field Office hosted the first of its kind, Chaplain and Peer Support Retreat. 52 participants from 8 Field Offices, HQ,and AMO participated in the 3-day event. The retreat was designed to "take care of those who take care of others".

During this cyber security issue CBP systems were not impacted.  We remain fully operational and continue to work closely with the Port of Seattle to facilitate the travel of arriving and departing international travelers.

CBPOs from the CBP Port of Blaine, WA attended the Northwest Washington Fair. They answered questions from the public regarding the hiring process and the job they do. They also demonstrated canine and vehicle searches. The local residents received insight into the CBP Mission.

CBPOs at the CBP Anacortes, WA Port of Entry inspect hundreds of private vessels each year. Most of these have been inspected via the ROAM application. Travelers can download the App on their smart phone and create an account. CBP can process arrivals for boats via #ROAM 24/7.

CBPOs and Agriculture Specialists from the CBP International Falls, MN POE received the #APTL Award. They targeted and inspected a shipment containing untreated unenterable Solid Wood Packing material. Their expertise ensures agricultural and economic security. #WPM #Agriculture
