"the agricultural sector reach net zero and go further – as will be required of agriculture – to acting as emissions sinks" Dept of Agriculture, Food and the Marine when was that decision made, who made it and were farmers allowed fair procedures? independent.ie/irish-news/pol…

When was the decision made that agriculture would have to make cuts to livelihood & property to offset emissions from other sectors and why were we not involved in that discussion? Are we no longer people with rights? Fine Gael Sinn Féin Fianna Fáil

We believe that farmers should be transparently and fully informed about all the options, risks and benefits of government policies that aim to use privately owned property to offset fossil fuel emissions BEFORE measures are enacted instead of finding out the hard way, as usual

“Oil and gas companies will make €3.9 trillion euros in net income this year, twice what it was last year” Eamon Ryan farmers you want to give up their livelihoods to offset emissions from their profits shouldn’t be able to charge them for it? Taxpayers should subsidize?

Interesting to note the proposed 'Intensive Grazing Tax' listed as a potential new environmental tax "that could raise a revenue of €182 million in 2030" - environment.ec.europa.eu/system/files/2…

The level of misinformation presented to the public and accepted as fact is in urgent need of addressing. We don't believe it is true to say that agriculture is directly responsible for 37% of Irish emissions and here is why - youtu.be/1MqCiiEPaEU

Farmers will not bear the burden of climate change mitigation Leo Varadkar tells the Irish Farmers' Association . Agricultural climate policy? Reduce our emissions. Grow trees to offset emissions from other sectors. Mitigate emissions from other sectors.
