Ok folks, tomorrow May 4th, is World Naked Gardening Day.

The only advice I can offer is to choose your jobs carefully!
Stay away from any jobs involving roses, cacti, thistles, nettles, strimmers etc.

Oh & don't forget the sunscreen!

My piece in today’s The Irish Times on the Government’s hot school meals scheme. Embedding industrial food and packaging waste in our schools. A wasted opportunity for co-benefits around food equality, child health, food education, and local food sourcing irishtimes.com/opinion/2024/0…

It was lovely to celebrate Irish Seed Savers

Nice to see this busy Common Carder Bumblebee pollinating apple blossom, helping to ensure a good crop later in the year 🌸🐝🍎🍏

It's nearly . Time to put away the lawnmower for a whole month & let native Irish wildflowers grow

But mowing less all summer is one of the best things you can do for pollinators. So why not try & ?

What’s really in your 'wildflower' seed mix?

A new study by Noeleen of University College Dublin reveals only 25% of species in 7 common wildflower seed mixes are native to Ireland.

None of the packets gave details of where the seed was sourced

Q: Would you recommend honeybee hives for our business site?
A: Please consider an *evidence-based action* e.g. reduced mowing & lift cuttings instead tinyurl.com/2d3zps9m

It’s amazing what neighbours can do together. Well done to all the residents of Ballinacurra that helped out today and over the weekend to get the Baggott Estate community garden ready for planting. Can’t wait to see all the flowers and herbs we can grow here 🌱
