Today's Croatian invertebrate encounter (I went out snooping at 6.15am) was this MASSIVE centipede - possibly Scolopendra cingulata (Thanks Collie Ennis π·πΈ). About 10cm long and feisty. I was not willing to go all Coyote Peterson on this.

Cynthia Longfield, aka Madam Dragonfly, of Cork and London, was an assistant scientist when, 100 years ago, she left on the St George expedition to follow in Darwin's footsteps. She returned a professional who became an international authority on dragonflies.
Great to see #homerescue back on the telly. Pete the Builder and crew really put the heart in a house renovation. Magic stuff.
