This week, #AISGZ Ss in 5D completed the beginning of their #travellingtales by selecting a #SDG to focus upon, building dynamic characters, and writing & illustrating the opening scenes. Excited to be part of another #collaborative story with @eamckim, marina tri hastuti, & Mrs. Villani

Today the G5 #AISGZ Ss shared out their #PassionProjects through interesting, engaging, informative presentations and then received #feedback to guide their #reflection and continued growth. It was wonderful to see so many #SDG connections and S-driven #inquiry in action!

After 14 weeks w/o Ss, #AISGZ jumped back into in-person learning w/ a traditional Lion Dance. It was great to finally see our Ss face-to-face once again!

As we prepare to launch this year's #AISGZ #PYPx, the G5 Ss were led by тαηια мαηѕƒιєℓ∂ (she/her) 🇭🇰🇳🇿🇨🇳🇻🇳🇹🇭🇨🇳 in an #action workshop where they constructed their own definitions of action, explored examples and non-examples of action, and began thinking of how action might look in their own #Exhibition

This week #AISGZ kicked off this year's #PYPx by selecting an issue they are #passionate about addressing, creating their own #CIs, #LOIs, and aligning these with #KeyConcepts, getting advice from the G6 Ss, and sending out their 1st #mentor emails. What a busy week!!

This week Adriana Rewald (she/her) shared with parents the importance of home languages as a means to support our #PYPx inquiries. Every day #AISGZ parent volunteers have been coming to work w/ our Ss in English, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and German. What an amazing #PTA community!

This week the #AISGZ Ss deepened their understandings by #researching their 2nd #LOI, sharing #resources across the grade, creating #translanguaged vocabulary cards, receiving #feedback after talking like an #expert, and reaching out to experts across #AISGZ & the local community

This week the #AISGZ Ss sorted out what they had learned about their #SDG topic, provided #feedback to one another to help identify their gaps, & created new Small Questions to deepen their understandings. Special thanks to Harizun Habib Ulhaq working w/ Ss as a #science extraordinaire

This week the #AISGZ Ss interviewed experts, went on local learning journeys, and shared their learning w/ G1 Ss. They will now create their Learning Spaces by applying the #DesignThinking shared by Adriana Rewald (she/her) to make their spaces interesting, engaging, and informative.

This week the #ASIGZ Ss synthesized their learning over the past six weeks by Making Conclusions, by Taking Action at school and in their communities, and by building their Learning Spaces to be interesting, engaging, and informative for all learners. #PYPxcountdown #3moredays

This week the AISGZ Ss celebrated #Exhibition by sharing out what they learned about their #SDG topic w/ Ss, parents, teachers, and adults across our school & community. They did an amazing job and should be really proud of all they have achieved over the last seven weeks.

In my 2nd attempt at #gamifying a #math unit, I am leveraging my love of #DnD to create AISGZ adventuring parties that solve fraction tasks, #NumberTalks, and M.A.T.H. stations to earn money, purchase armor, weapons, and items, fight weekly monsters, and level up their party.

This week Jordan Smigelsky 🇨🇦🇰🇷🇹🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇨🇳 led the AISGZ G5 Ss in upskilling their #Maker skills prior to our upcoming #MakersDay on June 1st. It was great to see such construction, creativity, and collaboration from the Ss. #futureready

It was a wonderful experience for my Grade Five students to #collaborate with students from all around the world as they incorporated the #SDGs into their story telling.

Having the opportunity to teach #DnD alongside Adriana Rewald (she/her) to our G5 ASA Ss has been one of the best parts of this school year. It has been amazing helping them develop their #imaginations, #collaboration, and #problemsolving skills while throwing some dice.

It has been a true highlight of my school year to start building a PLN that are working to gamify their lessons and classrooms. If you're interested, or doing so similar, I would love to hear from you as we aim to build our #gamification network.

As AISGZ celebrates the end of the SY, I #reflected on my year of #gamification w/ a #DnD speech for #MovingUp, an amazing goodbye speech from a colleague, & a perfect gift from тαηια мαηѕƒιєℓ∂ (she/her) 🇭🇰🇳🇿🇨🇳🇻🇳🇹🇭🇨🇳.
