Arrived in Geneva to attend the World Health Organization (WHO) Essential Medicines List meeting on behalf of WFH Current plans for the list risk a dangerous return to the past for haemophilia and VWD with non-pathogen reduced treatments being recommended as the standard of care. #Haemophilia
Today, the WFH joined in the #WHO 25th Expert Committee Meeting on Selection and Use of Essential Medicines. Radoslaw Kaczmarek & Clive Smith delivered a statement outlining critical updates needed to align the EML with international clinical guidelines. ➡️ bit.ly/3RN97V9
The Infected blood Inquiry will once again be sitting in London tomorrow and Thursday. I’ll be on BBC Yorkshire at 6:30pm tonight and BBC Radio 4 Today tomorrow morning at 7:50am to discuss the ongoing issues around the payment of compensation to the infected and affected.
The Infected Blood Inquiry will publish its additional report on compensation on 9 July. Its Chair, Sir Brian Langstaff, took oral evidence in May from campaigners, civil servants and Nick Thomas-Symonds, the minister with responsibility for delivering compensation. #contaminatedblood
