The Battle of Leuctra was fought in 371BC in which the Boeotians, led by the Thebans, were victorious over the Spartans. A trophy was set up on the battlefield by the Thebans. The base of the trophy still survives (pictured).

The Erechtheion temple on the Acropolis.
Here, Athena and Poseidon competed for control of the city of Athens. A hole in the temple roof marks the place where Poseidon's trident came down from the sky. Athena's olive tree was judged the winner.
