When will the pandemic end? That's when people understand the importance of airborne transmission and realize how closely we are connected, when enough people are willing to transform from ego-centered pattern of thinking and acting into one that is based on compassion to others.

Most recent SARS-CoV2 outbreak in HK fuelled by ‘vertical transmission’ in estate buildings, not explainable by common space sharing alone -likely upward aerosol spread via air shafts as reported for SARS-1

Perhaps no country has quashed #COVID19 better than #Taiwan🇹🇼. Even so, I feel TaiwanCDC can benefit from more focus on ventilation and aerosol spread. Would you join me in spreading the word that #COVIDisAirborne? As an example, I sent the following to policymakers👇 1/13

We all want our “normal” lives back. A key difference is many of us believe we can do it in a way that is equitable for all. Everyone deserves to breathe clean indoor air and there are solutions right in front of us. Adding air filtration is a key layer of protection.

There will be more virus in the air on public transit now. Buses > trains > planes. Even with great ventilation & filtration on airplanes, we found flu virus in 2 out of 3 samples, at ~10^4 gc/m3 years ago pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21300628/. /2

At last, an accurate article about the lack of mitigations in schools & the fight parents face to get HEPA filters in. It's clear that many poorly ventilated classrooms aren't being improved. Portrayal of most as being adequately ventilated is just a lie. bylinetimes.com/2022/04/25/hig…

Linsey Marr https://www.threads.net/@linseycmarr (@linseymarr) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Real-world evidence that increased ventilation rate and open windows are associated with less virus in the air. Note that ventilation rates were low (<1 ACH). Also, more virus found in air and on surfaces if subject was symptomatic vs. asymptomatic.

Improving ventilation, installing air filtration devices (HEPA filters) and implementing UV disinfection can effectively reduce the risk of indoor airborne transmission.

Facts. Masks reduce your risk of inhaling and getting COVID-19. Good fitting respirators work even better. Anyone who tells you differently is either misinformed, has a conflict of interest, ignorant, or brainwashed. Letting them control the dialog has led to this pandemic.

Our latest work published in J. Phys. Chem. Lett. shows that water actively enhances the formation of secondary organic aerosols in limonene ozonolysis, one of the most important sources of indoor SOAs!

Chia Wang (@chiawang8) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Water can significantly enhance the total yield and composition of secondary organic aerosols by acting as both a catalyst and a reactant. Current atmospheric and climate models need to take water into account to accurately predict aerosol loading and their influences on climate!
