To this day, 4+ yrs later, World Health Organization (WHO) has not apologized for their huge error of denying in March 2020...

That is still pending. They seem to have no intention of doing so.

Sobering reporting what Chinese scientists and dissident face: their children taken away if they say things authorities dislike.

This is why it’s understandable that they may parrot the official line on anything sensitive — and their personal communications are monitored.

How much of global warming is human-caused?

MORE THAN 100%

That’s right: according to natural factors, including the sun and natural cycles, the Earth should be slowly, gradually cooling right now. Instead, it’s warming.

Surveillance for a potential zoonotic jump of bird flu using ER visits as a main source of data seems like a “little too late” strategy

How about… I don’t know, asking the people on the farms where outbreaks have been detected to provide swabs on a routine basis. That would be

21/ A new well-researched article on the World Health Organization (WHO) new definitions of transmission, including airborne / inhalation, and direct deposition (old 'droplets')

By Megan Molteni, with input from Linsey Marr https://www.threads.net/@linseycmarr Don Milton @[email protected] Jeremy Farrar and yours truly

Fantastic summary of the WHO's recent improved terminology about airborne diseases—& their totally unimproved stance on recommending airborne protections. Prof. Jose-Luis Jimenez is a world-leading aerosol scientist & has been *the best* at informing the public about airborne transmission.

Carl Zimmer The New York Times World Health Organization (WHO) CDC 19/ Thankfully there has been enough pressure from nurses unions NationalNursesUnited and their allies that CDC has not yet moved forward with that

It is very important. Curiously very little press coverage, Judy Stone of Forbes being an exception:

Carl Zimmer The New York Times World Health Organization (WHO) CDC 18/ During pandemic, many experts told me CDC has long been dominated by hospital industry

Which views infection protection as:

- Cost or savings for hospitals
- Health burden or benefit for health care workers

They choose savings for hospitals, burden for workers

1/ World Health Organization (WHO) has published a report on updated terminology for disease transmission

I've seen some debate about it. My take:

- Terminology itself is ok. Big progress
- But no recommendations of how to protect!

Press release: who.int/news/item/18-0…

Excellent🧵 on the recent published World Health Organization (WHO) terminology update on respiratory diseases, with backgrounds, pro/contra's, missed opportunities, and why hospitals are so reluctant to step up their airborne precautions! Teaser: money! 👏👇

World Health Organization (WHO) CDC 32/ I hope I am wrong, but I suspect medical IPC (infection prevention and control) is NOT going to be in a hurry to educate health care workers (HCWs) about these changes

If HCWs understood, they may get uppity and ask for airborne protections!

31/ Totally agree w/ this: World Health Organization (WHO), CDC, and almost all health ministries need to APOLOGIZE for their HUGE BLUNDER of denying

They have lost the trust of many of us. Accepting their errors and apologizing would be 1st step to regain it

30/ To be clear, I am NOT happy about World Health Organization (WHO)

MAIN ISSUE is which airborne protections we use when. World Health Organization (WHO) and CDC continue to stall, keep power, decide on unclear grounds

But the narrow issue of terminology WAS A REAL PROBLEM. At least that's improved
