I *love* fine art, but if you visit Toronto, consider swapping out a gallery to explore your own deep history at the ROM's brand new 10,000 sqft 'Dawn of Life' exhibit. rom.on.ca/en/about-us/ne…

The Venus’ flower basket is a glass sponge made up of 1000s of tiny pores, which draw in water so the sponge can feed on bacteria & plankton. This process helps keep our oceans clean as a small glass sponge reef can filter 80K liters a second & remove 90% of the water's bacteria!

Finally I present: Argovisaurus martafernandezi at the Paleontological Institute UZH Science
It has been a long process of several years of preparation, identification, digitization, and finally showcasing it. White = reconstructed; Creme = preserved. (1/n).

Bonus , I believe this is a phyllocarid carapace (“Ceratiocaris” deweyii) from the Rochester Shale. Compared to another partial specimen I have, this one is rather small.

While researching how trilobites, pill millipedes and roly-pollies converged into a 'spherical' shape, I found another interesting case: robots! I have found at least four cases of robots inspired by pill bugs.
