Home office refusing to tell me anything about my 21 yr old constituent they detained yesterday. So I came in person with a letter. Not allowed to hand in. Heading to parliament. Sure I can find the minister in person.

This means that 26% don't think that child refugees should have a safe way to reunite with their families in the UK. That is 1 in 4 people. We need to change this!

This is how you report.

You do not shove cameras in peoples faces, you do not shout questions. You build trust with the people around asylum seekers, you report respectfully & sensitively to the risks, and you show empathy to peoples fear.

Intrusive press behaviour in Solihull. Sky News has been asked to stop doing this but apparently they are ignoring requests to stop filming vulnerable and fearful people.

Home Office have updated the CPIN for Rwanda highlighting all of the serious risks including ‘forced exile & illegal arrests of LGBT people’.

While Parliament unilaterally decrees Rwanda ‘safe’ its civil service rightly disagrees.

When people who have arrived in the UK seeking safety are told that they will be detained and deported this becomes inevitable. The reality is that this will put more people at risk of exploitation and abuse.
