Year 6 used atlases to improve their knowledge of North and South America during their geography lesson today.

Year 5 had a very successful science lesson this morning where they looked at irreversible changes. They mixed vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to create carbon dioxide and then mixed milk with vinegar to make casein plastic.

Year Four have studied different accounts of Jesus’ resurrection and are describing how different representations make them feel.

We like the abstract ones best - they said this means that anyone can identify with Jesus because he can be any skin colour to any audience.

In Geography, Year 2 have been using an atlas to locate countries in Europe! We used the atlas to help us label our maps! What fantastic knowledge they have! 🌍

A reminder that to celebrate St George’s day tomorrow, children are welcome to wear their own clothes with red or white items

Year 5 have been looking at spreadsheets today computing. They were learning about cell references and organising data into columns and rows to create data sets.

Well done to our girl’s football team who gave 100% effort (despite the weather taking a turn for the worst) in the last round of their league matches this afternoon. You did us all very proud. ⚽️

Today Ambrose, Lola, Aurora and Dermot led Year 3’s prayer and liturgy. They focused on our values and virtues for this half term, eloquent and truthful asking the children to share examples of how they could be eloquent and truthful. 🙏

Year Four has set up a fair test this week to observe the effects that different drinks can have on our teeth 🦷 we substituted teeth for egg shells and looked at how the eggshells changed over the week. As the picture shows, the results are very interesting!

Year 5 had a TenTen lesson today that was all about giving assistance. They were able to learn the recovery position and how to do the DR ABC primary survey.

Reception and Key Stage 1 had a fantastic time on their sponsored walk this morning. We’re all back safe and fuelling ourselves for the afternoon with pizza Friday!

The Eco council would like to say a massive thank you to our wonderful PTA who has given them £100 to buy gardening equipment. They were so excited to all have gloves and kneeling pads and we have money left to buy seeds and rakes.🍃🥦🥬

Year 3 had a fantastic time Hall Green Library this afternoon. They were so excited to start reading their new books once back at school and can’t wait to carry on once they are at home!

Dribbling the ball with our hands was the focus of today’s P.E. lesson for Year 1. They worked on throwing and catching the ball in front of them and moved on to dribbling the ball on the spot. 🏀 ⭐️

Year 1 have thoroughly enjoyed their story this week called Marshmallows which is a short video. They concluded the work on the story today by asking the boy questions.
Mrs Thorne bravely volunteered to be the boy and answer the brilliant questions written! ⭐️

The rumours are right: children in St Oscar Romero house can wear their own clothes on Friday, as reward for their house winning the house points last term.
