Hi, I'm Diana, curator for Hemiptera and Thysanoptera with NHM Small Orders. My favourite specimens are on slides - like this female psyllid. To me, preparing a 1mm insect for microscope observation is the perfect junction between science and craftmanship.

My new paper collaborated with なみきく土也 was published in JHR!
We described a new species of rare genus Pseudalomya collected from high-altitude Taiwan and discussed the systematic position of this genus by multigene phylogeny.

A long story about a neurodivergent little girl who was told she wasn’t bright enough and only gained four GCSEs at school. Because of this, her aspirations to be an Archaeologist never came to pass 🧵

Myself and Michał Jezierski, with the help of other BTO bird ringers, have set up a study of Mandarin movements around the UK 🇬🇧. Birds will be ringed at various sites across the country, starting this year. Please keep an eye out for green colour rings 😁!
