Honest Q for this dead space where it won’t get replies: Why do ppl hate on Tim Hecker? Been listening since mid 00s and I’ve always loved everything about him— his steez, his anti approach, the depth with which he talks about art & his own art. Is it because he’s successful?

My producerly advice is to make music that sounds like total shit, don’t learn how to do anything correctly. When you get bored of that, then you take the time to learn. Finally, you can use that knowledge to approximate things sounding like shit when you were innocent/ignorant.
