Ensuring a resilient healthcare system in Nigeria is vital if we must address maternal mortality in the country, and one key way to do so is to ensure improved health insurance coverage for all Nigerians, especially pregnant women. Dr Ben Nkechika, CEO Delta State Contributory Health Commission, spoke on this.
A Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance team led by the CEO, David Marlow, visited an International Vaccine Access Center at BSPH project in Nigeria and met with CSOs working in health. Organized by me and the chair of the Gavi CSO steerco, Endie Waziri, the meeting featured the leading health CSOs and platforms in Nigeria, such as Women Advocates for Vaccine Access.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of being hosted by Dr Ben Nkechika and team to discuss potential collaboration to advance improvements in healthcare, especially for mothers & children. We need to make healthcare more accessible to improve outcomes.
