"You can't physically chuck a 13-year-old over a school gate and say: ‘Go on, get in.’" Actor Anna Maxwell Martin, who's navigated the SEND system as a parent, tells #R4Today that attitude is just as important as funding to help support children with special educational needs.

I really want this government to succeed and I’ve always worked to that end. But we can’t just pretend everything is going great and what we need is more of the same. I will make sure we are connected to our communities and make better decisions.

This is a lie. There are many criticisms you might sensibly and truthfully make of the Sentencing Council and the Sentencing Guidelines. I’ve been making them for years. But this is an outright lie. Pure fabrication. A fraud on the public.

Made it over to #Burnage today to speak to residents on behalf of Angeliki Stogia for Gorton and Denton. Really positive session. Not much support for Reform. #UnityNotDivision.

One month today, GM will have lifted the 9.30am restriction on older and disabled people’s bus passes - permanently. We continue to work relentlessly to improve the lives of our residents! 💪🏻🐝

'Jim Ratcliffe has moved to Monaco to save £4-billion worth of tax in this country one might question whether he is the patriot we need to comment on this issue' Justice minister Jake Richards spoke to #BBCBreakfast after billionaire Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe

Jake Richards MP (@jakebenrichards) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Ratcliffe’s comments are offensive to those who come here to contribute to our economy and public services. We share the public’s concern about immigration; that’s why we have reduced numbers dramatically. But we must be united in this challenge, not seek to inflame and divide.

Previous Green supporters are now switching to Labour across the constituency. They can see that Angeliki is the best candidate in the race by far. Greens can’t win here. Only Labour can stop Reform.

If you live in #Gorton and #Denton, don’t believe the dodgy bar charts from the Greens. The Labour Party can win this seat. Angeliki Stogia is the only truly local candidate who already has a track record of delivering for this community. Don’t forget to vote Labour tomorrow

Getting out the The Labour Party vote in #Gorton and #Denton this evening. Great to bump into lots of familiar faces! Whatever the result, Angeliki Stogia has been a fantastic candidate and I hope she’ll be the next MP for a community that needs unity not division

There’s a lot being said by a certain opp MP For those who’ve scraped the back of the sofa to buy a bottle of milk, it’s not something you brag about- you’re fighting to get out of it. Don’t presume to speak for people you know nothing about. We’re in it because we’ve lived it!

Well said Tom Hayes MP. She doesn’t have a monopoly on having an ordinary job. Parliament has a range of people, many with tough backgrounds and tough jobs before they were elected. For her to say she did more in two weeks than most MPs do in a year is completely preposterous

Delighted to be standing as The Labour Party and Co-operative Party candidate for Ashton upon Mersey ward in local elections to Trafford Council on 7 May. It’s always a huge privilege and responsibility to represent my local area and I’d be grateful for your support.

The “Blue Labour” strategy still being promoted by some on Lab right is to try and win social cons while holding on to social liberals. Failure state for this strategy is failing to win social cons while alienating social liberals. Here is a map of that failure state:

Delighted to be re-elected as The Labour Party & Co-operative Party cllr for #AshtonuponMersey Trafford Council. Trafford Labour bucked trend again by winning most council seats and retaining control. But lost some long-serving and dedicated cllrs and I'll miss working with each of them.
