Following a report of a burglary to Northgate News in Barnstaple during the evening of 01/08/23, we are aware of some local social media discussion. A young person handed himself in and was arrested yesterday evening. He's been bailed with conditions pending a charging decision.

To explain the traffic disruption on the A39 yesterday. 3 vehicle pile up- New Bridge Bideford- blocking the road. Also, a passenger who gave false details, was identified as a high risk DV offender + in breach of court orders protecting a victim. Arrested + remanded to court.

Adam Ryan Peard of Barnstaple was arrested again and charged with Breach of Bail, Assault Emergency Worker, Criminal Damage, and Theft. He was refused bail, appeared at court today, and was sentenced to 5 weeks in HMP. The hearing re. the burglary will take place at a later date.

This team manage prosecution files, post investigation, and liaise with the Crown Prosecution Service & HM Courts and Tribunals Service One staff has 36yrs here. Tells me 30 years ago they went through a pallet of copy paper a fortnight. Now it’s a box in three months!
