We're celebrating 1 month of being back in classrooms across Syracuse City School with #NatureInTheCity! Kindergarteners across have been busily exploring with their first-ever lessons as they learn about what a habitat is. SCSD Science

#Sunshine & blue skies have made for excellent #birdwatching during Nature in the City with 2nd graders across Syracuse City School! Budding ornithologists at Roberts Pre-K-8 School learned about feeding adaptations and then searched for birds right near their school! SCSD Science

Nature in the City has been busy exploring the #science of syrup with 1st graders across @syracuseschools. Thank you to Dutch Hill Maple for donating the syrup for a sweet taste test to see if they could guess which of 2 samples was REAL maple syrup! SCSD Science

Last Friday, we welcomed 6th graders from Union Springs CSD for a Stewardship Field Trip. They planted over 50 new trees, distributed a wildflower mix, and enjoyed a hike. Many students shared how much they appreciated nature. We are so grateful to these inspiring students!

Nature in the City is visiting 2nd grade classrooms across Syracuse City School to learn all about plants & pollinators! Van Duyn Elementary had plenty of flowers to explore as we learned how insects, birds, and mammals help spread pollen. SCSD Science #natureinyourhands

664 K-5th graders at Dr. Weeks Elementary School in Syracuse City School received Summer STEM Exploration kits with tools to get out & explore the world around them this summer! This BWNC Nature in the City program project was possible thanks to the support of National Grid US.
