There were quite a lot of Royal Ferns on the cliff path and even down the cliff towards the sea at Pendeen Cliffs #Cornwall today. They are dying off now and I couldn't find any "flower" spikes left. Osmunda regalis

Goldenrod: pollinator magnet par excellence. These ones were simply alive with a fantastic variety of flying insects yesterday. The only REAL 'weeds' are alien invasive species that damage ecosystems. 🌏

Loving the Ents in the Rings of Power? Check out the real ones in Richmond Park for #thicktrunktuesday! Richmond Park is home to many veteran oaks that are centuries old, including this superbly angry creature.

Whether you're in Ireland or further afield: lots of valuable information about wild plants in this great resource! Did you know Bog Myrtle especially likes our oceanic Irish climate and is great for keeping midges away? Paul Green Phoebe O'Brien Olly Lynch Milner Donncha Ó Catháin

Has anyone had trouble with Himalayan Blackberry? It's got into a site which was developing nicely into interesting grassland. This plant is the closest thing we have to a Triffid. It grows >6m a year. Cutting it won't get rid of it, but it will stop it from spreading further.

Common centaury is growing in some abundance by the balancing ponds next to the A90 at Maryculter. 2nd Kincardineshire record and doubtless introduced during construction. Thanks to Aberdeenshire Council Council staff for the tip-off.

A flying visit to Lancashire to monitor a moorland restoration scheme. Great views across to Morecombe Bay and the Lake District, and good to see Mountain Fern, the last few flowers of Bell Heather and plenty of Sphagnum in the wetter areas. Common Spike-rush (Eleocharis palustris) -the rare subsp palustris Kent yesterday from the location where the "type" specimen described by Max Walters was found. The other subsp, is waltersii. 75 years have passed, & I have refound this.
