Thank you Senator Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith ! As a survivor of violent crime I support this bill. Humans can heal and become productive members of society. I look forward to progress and deeply appreciate your work.
Thank you for hosting this event! & thank you Florida Department of Corrections for fostering healing through art & other meaningful programs! Thank you also to the legislators who stopped by Representative Fentrice Driskell Berny Jacques Representative Daryl Campbell The men and women behind the gates were so excited to share.
Epic failure! It's time to find ways to safely reduce the prison population. SB 1786 by Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith is a great place to start! Jonathan Martin Florida Cares Mitch Perry Danielle Wa
Agreed, Berny Jacques & let's don't forget in the meantime, as the Secretary said at that same meeting, the majority of incarcerated people HELP keep it safe in there. Danielle Wa Florida Cares All Things Considered Florida Politics Daniel Perez Jonathan Martin Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith
This would bring so much relief to the people who have aged out of crime and als provide relief to the staffing shortages. Jonathan Martin please place this on your committee agenda.
What's even more wild is that the attached article is a year old, and still, no major improvement. Florida Legislators aren't interested in fixing the problem. If they were, SB 1786 would have been on at least one agenda by now. 🤷 Jonathan Martin Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith Sen. Jason Pizzo
#Beattheheat A few small changes and a few simple items will help make the summer heat less dangerous for incarcerated folks. Besides being the humane thing to do, climate control is the fiscally responsible one. We need people healthy when they reenter society. Not to mention healthy work environments. #BeatTheHeat Florida Cares Florida Department of Corrections South Florida Sun Sentinel Florida Politics Ben Albritton Daniel Perez

When Florida Department of Corrections tells you how much it will cost to feed those in their care, believe them. #FundTheFood Daniel Perez The bare minimum is not what incarcerated people need, but they DO need AT LEAST that. Florida Politics Danielle Wa South Florida Sun Sentinel Kylie McGivern NPR Politics
It's not unreasonable to ask for incarcerated people to be fed. Nothing extravagant, just the basic healthy caloric intake required for the average adult. Daniel Perez , Florida Department of Corrections has told the legislature how much $ they need to feed those in their care. #FundTheFood
Of COURSE we protect the elderly, they are more vulnerable. It shouldn't matter WHERE they live, whether I'm a nursing home, ALF, or a Correctional facility. We need to expand this to cover the elderly in any situation. Florida Politics Florida Senate Florida House of Representatives cbs12.com/news/local/90-…
