NYCEM attended a rally for Basement Apartments Safe for Everyone at the New York State Capitol.

Legalizing and regulating basement apartments is key to making them safer for New Yorkers and avoiding tragic loss of lives like what we saw in Hurricane Ida.

Happening now: A “hot wash” in emergency management is a facilitated debriefing after an incident, capturing strengths and areas of improvement. This afternoon NYCEM’s Blue Team held a hot wash of Friday’s earthquake response. #em

'Since then, Long said his team has made around 120,000 casework contacts. He also said his teams have gotten more and more efficient over time, saving the city money and the migrants time in shelter.'
