Noticing a lot of casual ageism, especially against older women, on social media lately. It seems to be acceptable among some young people who (quite rightly) wouldn’t tolerate any other form of discrimination or prejudice. Curious why we are fair game though…

We're so proud that the lead of our study Gerome Breen was there to speak at such an important event and continue advocating for people with eating disorders. Thanks, as always, to the brilliant and resilient Hope Virgo for all that you do!

More evidence that there is very little difference in things that matter between anorexia underweight & atypical anorexia Two new treatments from our team EAT Lab improve symptoms for both diagnoses similarly It’s all #anorexia

There’s such a misconception that #eatingdisorders are always lifelong illnesses. That’s so untrue. Especially with prompt identification and weight restoration, outcomes can be excellent.

We have ONE fellow opening building a personalized treatment for #eatingdisorders that includes incorporating social determinants of health (racism, food insecurity) into treatment If personalized treatment, eating disorders, EMA, network modeling or battling problematic systems

Attempts to classify eating disorders don’t reveal special, discrete categories or stages or illness. They just reveal that time happens. And that medical neglect is commonplace.

"I am no longer a SEED patient", finally published in Journal of Eating Disorders. This is my response to the #terminalanorexia debate: I was once given up on but recovery is possible & should always be available no matter how long or severe your ED. Please read my story: doi.org/10.1186/s40337…

We wanted to highlight one of our proud research endeavours! We worked on a report with our partners @beated to investigate when eating disorders start Our findings have major policy implications, showing need for more funding, investment, and awareness in adult clinical services

I think what people don’t understand about anorexia, is that when it hits your family you find yourself in an upside down world where nothing makes sense anymore. Imagine your child suddenly being unable to eat, or seemingly not wanting to eat… how utterly horrifying is that?

We're committed to making a real-world impact on individuals with eating disorders Alongside advocates like Hope Virgo & Agnes Ayton 💙, we’re engaging MPs to highlight the need for more funding Only 1% of mental health research funding goes to eating disorders—let’s change that!
