Don’t let the snow in the photo fool you; our Annual Spring Cleanup will begin on March 15. If you wish to save any items placed on graves, please remove them ahead of the cleanup.

Given to the Lincoln administration during the early years of the Civil War, our Soldiers & Sailors Plot holds the graves of Union Soldiers, many of whom died of wounds or illness while hospitalized in Albany. Among them are two Unknown Soldiers. #MemorialDay2023

This graceful lady watches over the Alvord family plot, including the graves of Charles who died at the age of 21 in 1851 and his sister Emma who died at the age of 1 in 1836. It's located in Section 74, Lot 22 on the North Ridge.

A view along the Rural Cemetery's Middle Ridge. The ornate wrought iron arched gate and fence recall a time when the majority of family plots were referred to as "enclosures" and surrounded by such ironwork or shrubbery. #ThrowbackThursday #albanyruralcemetery #cemeteryhistory
