The Curbsiders ACP here are the #IMpocus leaders of the future. There were 16 residents here for the Sat/Sun Foundational POCUS course!!! Several of them (and several faculty) found the course via the summer reboot. Thanks for spreading the POCUS love!!!

Taking care of patients on a holiday like Christmas is a privilege I do not take for granted. These are our fellow human beings at their lowest physically and emotionally, in a hospital, away from their families, made worse with COVID. It’s an honor to help them! Merry Christmas!

Christmas in the ICU. It's busy. It feels like tragedy is behind every glass door, but it helps me to remember how much I have to be thankful for. Amazing colleagues. The privilege of caring for the most vulnerable. The chance to make a difference. And cookies. Merry Christmas!

#MedEdTwitter, I recently had excellent feedback from an M3 who suggested that the residents present a few patients on rounds the first day like they would expect the students to. Maybe this is obvious, but I learned it is way more efficient than teaching how to present! #meded

Team #Impocus, we have arrived! I used #pocus to teach students JVP exam by direct visualization, and it was a hit! POCUS has gone from augmenting physical exam to being a great tool for teaching physical exam!

#MedEdTwitter having minimal/no control over schedule and the associated uncertainty is a huge reason for burnout for trainees (med students > residents). Thoughts on what residents can do to improve this for the students? Would love to hear from MS3’s!

I think much of the incoherence & backflips in #COVID19 response, esp in rich countries, came about b/c ppl don't understand who ICU teams are & what they do I'm an intensive care specialist who did an MBA to try & understand this better myself, here goes at an explanation: 🧵⬇️

Healthcare workers are not tired of fighting COVID. We are tired of fighting misinformation about COVID. We are tired of fighting denial about COVID. We are tired of fighting inaction about COVID. You don't have to be in heathcare to fight COVID. #GetVaccinated #MaskUp

I was taught, and continue to hear it taught, that the history of present illness (HPI) should be crafted to "convince the listener/reader of your suspected diagnosis." I think this framing is problematic... 1/
