Hot on the heels of the Italian ringed Siskin at Bourne Wood a few days ago, was this LATVIAN-ringed Siskin today.

Whilst trying to record the mysterious white bat from the other night, we saw and recorded a very interesting bat, my first BARBASTELLE! Absolutely bonkers to me that Daniel Wade Jake Gearty clearly get this species in their garden 🤯

Nice to find Barney today Jonathan Fowler just south of RSPB Frampton Marsh 🌍 . Absolutely smashed the BTO ringing longevity record. He was ringed as a chick on 13th June 2007, so is nearly 17 years old. He's outlived at least four wives, and he and current one have 4 eggs.

We’ve started Motus tagging Jack Snipe this week as a part of the Motus Tracking Project! Last week, 3 Jack Snipe were tagged in the LDV NNR , and now we have captured and tagged an individual here at Spurn! 1/6 📸 C Foote

Exciting to receive our first Motus ‘ping’ of a recently tagged Jack Snipe on its return migration. After spending time in the #LDV it moved rather quickly across the North Sea and pinged three masts in Germany, and is the first German recovery of a BTO ringed Jack Snipe.
